Use this helpful guide to Update your MidAlert! preferences in Self-Service.

By default, MidAlert! sends an email to all currently registered students and current employees' Mid Mich Email accounts. MidAlert! also calls the phone number you provided to the College.

You can adjust your MidAlert! preferences in Self-Service to allow text messages or decline voice and text messages. You cannot decline the email message that is sent to your Mid Mich Email account, this is a required system default.

  • If you want to receive text messages, add your mobile phone number to the MidAlert! Text Message Phone Type field.
  • If you do not want to receive voice or text messages remove both numbers from their respective fields and you will only receive the email notification when emergency communications are sent.
    • If you remove both numbers, you will be required to add phone numbers in the future if you choose to receive voice or text messages from MidAlert!.

 Step 1 | Log in to Self-Service.

 Access your profile information.

Under the telephone section, look for the MidAlert! Voice Message Phone Type or MidAlert! Text Message Phone Type fields. You can edit or delete these numbers at any time. Updates to MidAlert! take place once per day.

 Step 2 | Make your edits as needed. 

To edit a phone number

  • Click the pencil icon and edit the phone number as needed.

To remove a phone number

  • Click the x icon.

To add a phone number

  • Click + Add New Phone and enter your phone number.
  • Under Type choose from the drop-down menu MidAlert! Text Message or MidAlert! Phone Message, depending on the type of notification you wish to receive. 

  • Click Update Phone.
