Mid Celebrates NACEP Accreditation Announcement

Mid’s concurrent enrollment program, offering college courses taught by high school instructors, was eligible and has now received continued NACEP Accreditation.

The Accreditation Commission of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) recently granted continued accreditation to Mid Michigan College’s concurrent enrollment program.

“Achieving this recognition reflects a strong institutional commitment to delivering high-quality, college-level opportunities for high school students—opportunities that play a vital role in supporting their successful transition to postsecondary education,” said Mike Altomari, incoming Chair of NACEP’s Accreditation Commission.

As the only national accrediting body dedicated to concurrent enrollment partnerships, NACEP provides a trusted framework to ensure quality and consistency across programs. Its standards serve as a benchmark for achieving alignment in faculty qualifications, course content, student outcomes, and institutional support.

Earning NACEP accreditation signifies that an institution has met the highest level of excellence in the design, oversight, and evaluation of its concurrent enrollment program across several key areas.

“There are thousands of strong programs across the country,” said Amy Williams, NACEP Executive Director, “but only 136 have taken the bold step to open their policies and practices to a thorough, independent review. That speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. EVERY student deserves a quality experience in their dual enrollment program.”

To earn NACEP accreditation, concurrent enrollment programs conduct a self-study, document how their programs adhere to NACEP’s sixteen standards, and undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a team of representatives from NACEP accredited programs as well as the members of the NACEP Accreditation Commission.

Mid’s NACEP accreditation is valid for seven years, with a commitment to uphold NACEP’s standards and report annually on program practices across the sixteen standards.

Mid offers concurrent enrollment opportunities for high school students at nine locations throughout the state.
