The following instructional delivery methods are utilized within Mid Michigan College's Off-Campus Courses.

• On-Ground is a course in which all of the scheduled course’s contact hours are experienced in a classroom or lab setting.
• Online is a course in which all of the scheduled course contact hours take place in an online environment.
• Hybrid is a course in which some of the scheduled course contact hours take place in an online environment and some of the scheduled course contact hours take place in an on-ground environment.
• Team Taught is a course that includes the support and assistance of both a Mid instructor and a high school teacher for direct credit. The Team Taught delivery method could occur in any of the above-mentioned instructional delivery methods.

Because several methods of instructional delivery could be incorporated into Mid's off-campus courses, the appropriate instructional delivery method will be dependent upon the approval of Mid Michigan College Academic Deans and with consideration for the following

• Adjunct instructor availability
• Needs of the student
• Needs of the high school
• The smoothest transition of course into the high school setting
• Appropriateness of the course to be delivered in a given format: i.e., some courses may not be suitable for online delivery at this time.

Mid's Associate Dean of Off-Campus Instruction will coordinate the instructor approval process for concurrent enrollment courses. All adjunct instructors and concurrent enrollment instructors will need final approval from Mid Michigan College Human Resources and the Academic Deans. The hiring process aims to ensure the academic integrity of its courses is upheld and best practices followed as determined by the Higher Learning Commission.

All adjunct instructors, concurrent enrollment instructors, and team- teachers must follow the processes listed below.

Adjunct Instructor

An adjunct instructor is an instructor that is hired and compensated by Mid Michigan College. This person will be the instructor (Faculty of Record) for the course. Applicants must submit the following to Mid Michigan College Human Resources.

• A letter of interest
• Resume
• Two letters of recommendation
• Transcripts (all official)
• Statement of teaching philosophy
• Online or hardcopy of Mid employment application

Human Resources then invites selected individuals into the hiring process. If an applicant is hired, Human Resources begins the process for the instructor to acquire appropriate access to programs such as Moodle, etc.

Concurrent Enrollment Instructor

A Concurrent Enrollment Instructor is a high school teacher that meets Mid Michigan College's adjunct faculty qualifications and has completed the adjunct hiring process. This person will be compensated by the local school district and such compensation will be reimbursed by the College to the high school. This person will be the instructor (Faculty of Record) for the course and will have adjunct faculty status with the exception of being compensated by the College. Applicants must submit the following to Mid Michigan College Human Resources.

• A letter of interest
• Resume
• Two letters of recommendation
• Transcripts (college)
• Statement of teaching philosophy
• Online or hard copy of Mid employment application

Human Resources then invites selected individuals into the hiring process. If an applicant is hired, a signed contract (by the applicant) will be submitted to Human Resources and the process will then begin for the instructor to acquire appropriate access to programs such as Moodle, etc.

Team Teacher

A Team Teacher is an instructor that is hired and compensated by the local school district. This teacher will work closely and collaborate often with a current Mid Michigan College full-time or adjunct instructor. This teacher may be responsible for instructing particular lessons of a course. A potential candidate must submit the following to Mid Michigan College Human Resources.

• Demographic Form
• Degree and Transcripts

If the candidate is approved by Human Resources and the Academic Deans, then the Associate Dean of Off-Campus Instruction will submit their name to Distance Learning for access to Moodle, etc.

Once a Team Teacher has satisfactorily completed a minimum of one semester teaching alongside a Mid Michigan College full-time or adjunct instructor, this teacher could then be considered as a Direct Credit or adjunct instructor for a future course with the same course credential requirements. For example, if the Team Teacher was working with a Mid faculty member in SPE 101, then the Team Teacher, upon approval by the Deans, could be considered as a direct credit instructor for a subsequent SPE 101 course. The final placement will rest with the Mid Michigan College Academic Deans.

Collaborator/Menu

A collaborator is considered an employee of Mid Michigan College. This instructor, either full-time or adjunct, will act as a point of contact for the high school teacher in the event that the direct credit instructor has questions regarding specific course or curriculum information.
