This Part 107 Remote Pilot Prep Training prepares students to pass the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test required to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate. Over eight 2-hour sessions, students learn essential topics including airspace, weather, regulations, flight operations, and safety. The training is designed for beginners and professionals alike, combining real-world insights with test-focused instruction to build both confidence and competence for safe, compliant drone operations.

This 8-hour training introduces participants to the fundamentals of drone flight, including basic controls, safety protocols, and practical applications. Through hands-on training sessions, participants will gain proficiency in operating drones safely and effectively. By the end of the training, participants will have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to operate drones safely and confidently and will be equipped to continue practicing and exploring further opportunities in drone flight.

Participants will obtain their FAA Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) certification.

About Drones

Hobbyists do not need to have a remote pilot certification and can fly under the following regulations.

  • Under 400’ above ground level
  • Within line of sight
  • Outside of restricted airspace
  • With a flight system weighing under 55 lbs
  • Minimum age of 16 to become certified to fly for commercial purposes (Part 107)
  • Must be registered with the FAA
