Methner Places in Statewide Microsoft Office Competition

Lily Methner (Mt. Pleasant), a student in Mid Michigan College’s Administrative Assistant Professional (AAP) Program, earned 9th place during the Michigan Fall Qualifier for the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist National Championship.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see students recognized for their hard work and dedication,” shared Kelli Butler, Full-Time AAP Faculty member at Mid. “I’m so excited for Lily and this outstanding accomplishment.”

Lily is currently enrolled in Mid’s AAP Program, which is offered 100% online and features flexible 8-week courses designed to help students balance school with work, family, and other responsibilities.

“Eight-week courses are a great option for students who want to make strong progress without feeling overwhelmed,” explained Butler. “Students can still complete four courses in a semester, but instead of juggling all four at once, they focus on two at a time. That structure helps many students balance their busy lives and academic goals with less stress.”

In addition to flexible scheduling, the program includes opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized certifications that help build career-ready skills. Certifications available through the program include Microsoft Office, Keyboarding, Social Media Marketing, and YouTube Monetization.

“Our program prepares students for careers in business, legal, medical, and virtual office settings,” Butler noted. “We’re committed to helping students build confidence, gain real-world skills, and succeed every step of the way.”
