Don’t Miss A Northern Tradition on April 12—An Exclusive Up North Experience at Jay’s
With just days to go, community members are invited to secure their spot at one of the region’s most anticipated annual events—A Northern Tradition, happening 5pm–8pm Sunday, April 12, at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare.
Now in its 23rd year, A Northern Tradition offers a one-of-a-kind Up North experience inside one of Michigan’s most iconic outdoor destinations. For one night only, Jay’s is closed to the public and open exclusively to ticket holders, creating a relaxed, after-hours atmosphere filled with food, camaraderie, and discovery.
Guests can stroll the aisles, enjoy tastings from local restaurants, watch live outdoor demonstrations, and connect with Mid Michigan College—all while taking in the sights and sounds of a true Up North evening.
“This event has become a favorite tradition for so many in our community,” said Alexa Carey, Executive Director of the Mid Foundation. “It’s a unique chance to experience Jay’s in a completely different way while coming together to support students and the future of our region.”
Each $50 ticket includes a $35 gift certificate to Jay’s Sporting Goods, a commemorative outdoor-themed print by featured artist Julie Tyslicky, and entry into a drawing for a $1,000 Jay’s gift certificate. A silent auction features a variety of unique items and experiences to round out the evening.
Over the past two decades, A Northern Tradition has raised more than $2 million to support students through scholarships, campus initiatives, and improvements that enhance student success.
“This event continues to make a real difference for our students,” Carey added. “Every ticket helps create opportunities—and it’s also just a great night out.”
Tickets are available at Mid’s Harrison and Mt. Pleasant Campuses, at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare, or online at midmich.edu/ant.
