Mid Michigan College Brings Scholarship Opportunities to Local Football Games
Friday night football brought a little extra excitement for local high school students this fall, thanks to Mid Michigan College. Through its Tailgate Team Toss Challenge, Mid visited four area football games, giving students a chance to show off their bean bag toss skills and win scholarships to put toward their future education.
The halftime competition combined school spirit, friendly competition, and an opportunity to connect students with the College. At each game, participants competed for Mid Michigan College scholarships of $100 or $500, with $4,800 awarded to 16 students throughout the fall.
“We were able to attend four local games this year, and it was a great opportunity to connect with local students, families, and community members,” said Beth Binder, Director of Admissions at Mid. “It's exciting to be part of these community traditions while helping students take another step toward their future.”
Scholarship recipients represented several area high schools.

The Tailgate Team Toss Challenge is one way Mid Michigan College invests in the communities it calls home. Most of this year's scholarship recipients represented high schools within Mid's in-district communities, bringing the benefits of local support closer to home. By showing up at Friday night games, connecting with students and families, and creating opportunities to take the next step toward college, Mid is doing more than cheering on local teams. It's cheering on the futures of the students who will help shape these communities for years to come.
