Winning once is impressive. Winning twice is elite.

Mid Michigan College’s Drew Moore has officially claimed his second consecutive Northern Conference Championship title, solidifying his place as one of the top cross country runners in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) and one of the most accomplished athletes in Laker history.

The sophomore standout from Grayling, Michigan, has been nearly unstoppable this season. Moore has captured three individual victories in four meets, including first-place finishes at both the GRCC Raider Invite and the Norse Invite, where he clocked a season-best 8K time of 27:25 on a challenging, hilly course.

His back-to-back conference titles highlight a season defined by dominance, discipline, and determination. Competing against some of the best junior college runners in the state, Moore’s consistency and competitive edge have set the tone for the Lakers’ success and inspired his teammates to elevate their own performances.

“Mid has been an incredible place to grow as a runner and as a student,” Drew shared. “It’s given me the opportunity to compete, improve, and prepare for the next level while being part of a team that feels like family.”

Last season, Moore finished 11th at the MCCAA Regional Championships, qualified for Nationals, and helped lead the Lakers to statewide recognition. This year, his repeat as Northern Conference Champion confirms his status as one of Michigan’s most formidable junior college runners.

As the Lakers prepare for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Regional 12 Championship (October 24), Moore remains determined to build on his winning streak and represent Mid Michigan College on the state’s biggest cross country stage.

With two titles and a season full of victories, Drew Moore is proving that at Mid Michigan College, greatness doesn’t just happen—it’s earned, one stride at a time.
