Mid Michigan College Women’s Basketball Student-Athletes Earn All-American Honors

Mid Michigan College’s Women’s Basketball team recently wrapped up an outstanding 2024-2025 season with a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament.

Recently, individual NJCAA and Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) awards were announced, and finally, the much-awaited NJCAA All-American Division II Women’s Basketball Team has been revealed.

Chloe Watson (Hemlock) was named as a Second-Team All-American, and Rachel Resio (Saginaw) was named a Third-Team All-American.

All-America selections are made by the NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee.

“We’re all so proud of Chloe and Rachel,” shared Head Coach Lance Maney. “Their drive, dedication, and hard work were an inspiration to the team throughout the season.”

The women’s basketball team won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) North Conference, the MCCAA State Championship for the third consecutive year, the Great Lakes District C Tournament, and competed in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

With a first-round loss and consolation bracket victory, the team finished seventh in the nation, the best finish in the  NJCAA D II Tournament by a Mid Michigan College team.

Mid Michigan College competes in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) against other community colleges for conference, regional/district, and state championships. The Lakers also compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for national tournaments.

Mid currently fields teams in the following sports, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's bowling, women's bowling, baseball, softball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, and co-ed clay target shooting.
