Mid Michigan College’s Women’s Basketball team recently wrapped up an outstanding 2024-2025 season with a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament.
“This season was one to remember,” shared Head Coach Lance Maney. “Coaching these student-athletes and watching them grow into successful young people has been a fantastic experience.”
The women’s basketball team won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) North Conference, the MCCAA State Championship for the third consecutive year, the Great Lakes District C Tournament, and competed in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
With a first-round loss and consolation bracket victory, the team finished seventh in the nation, the best finish in the NJCAA D II Tournament by a Mid Michigan College team.
“This team has embodied our pillars of maximum effort, continuous growth, and selflessness,” noted Maney. “They have helped turn Mid into one of the country’s top junior college basketball programs, and their impact will inspire future success and always be remembered.”
While basketball is a team sport, individuals are also recognized for excellence by the MCCAA and the NJCAA.
“We are so proud of this team and their dedication, hard work, and drive,” shared Matt Miller, VP of Student Services & Advancement and Interim Athletic Director. “The momentum surrounding this team continues to build, and we’re excited to see what comes next.”
