Mid Michigan College’s Men’s Basketball team recently wrapped up a strong 2024-2025 season with a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) District Tournament.
“This season really showed our grit and determination,” shared Head Coach Kaleb House. “These student-athletes demonstrated hard work, mental toughness, and what it means to play with intensity.”
The men’s basketball team won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) North Conference, their first-ever solo title. The Lakers entered the NJCAA District Tournament, but were eliminated, 73-65, by the 9th-ranked Macomb Monarchs.
“These are the winningest group of players we have ever had at Mid,” noted House. “They have strengthened the foundation of this team through their unselfishness, passion, and love for improvement.”
While basketball is a team sport, individuals are also recognized for excellence by the MCCAA and the NJCAA.
“To have the success as a team and to be recognized for their individual efforts speaks to the level of excellence this team reached,” shared Matt Miller, VP of Student Services & Advancement and Interim Athletic Director. “The momentum is growing, and we’re so proud of this team.”
