Mid Michigan College, MyMichigan Health, and Central Michigan District Health Department invite you to attend the Women’s Health Summit 11:30am - 3pm Thursday, September 26, 2024 on Mid's Mt. Pleasant Campus.

Your Body, Your Mind, and the Economics of Being a Woman

The event includes a panel discussion with a Primary Care Physician, Clinical Therapist, and Community Impact Manager who will discuss issues currently impacting women. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions. 

At the conclusion of the panel discussion, students from Mid’s Nursing Program will provide health education and screenings for hypertension, COPD, diabetes, colon cancer, COVID, influenza, depression, and breast cancer. 

Central Michigan District Health Department will also be providing Flu & COVID Vaccinations. Those wishing to be vaccinated must provide their insurance card and identification—there may be a cost depending on individual insurance coverage.

The Lunch and Panel Discussion are limited to pre-registered attendees. The Health Fair is open to everyone. There is no cost for either portion of the event.

    • Primary Care Physician | Megan Boyk, MD, MPA
      • Dr. Boyk is a family physician with MyMichigan in Clare. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Public Health at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH and her medical degree at Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Boyk then completed her family medicine residency at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN, as well as a fellowship in health services management and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs. She began practicing at MyMichigan in Clare after completing her fellowship in August 2023. Her interests include care for underserved communities, preventive care and chronic disease management, community outreach, and public health. 
    • Clinical Therapist | Michelle Lucchesi, MA, LLP 
      • Michelle Lucchesi is a Master’s level psychologist who has worked in the Alma area since 1996. She has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency mental health settings and is currently a therapist at the Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. She has been an educator on numerous mental health topics for many community organizations over the years. She also holds a Master's Degree in Humanities and is a performing arts educator, performer, and creator. 
    • Community Impact Manager | Brittany Stoneman
      • Brittany joined United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties in August 2023, where she serves as Community Impact Manager. As Community Impact Manager, Brittany is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with local non-profits, finding collaborative solutions to community issues, and executing initiatives that make a positive impact in local communities, including United Way's ALICE Support Fund. A (nearly) lifelong resident of Gratiot County, Brittany grew up in Breckenridge, MI and now lives with her husband and two children in Alma. Brittany earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Kettering University and has a background in non-profit fundraising, project management, and community engagement. She is a member of the Gratiot Young Professionals Network, Rotary, Optimist, and serves as the Secretary for the Gratiot County Substance & Suicide Prevention Program and the Central Michigan Local Planning Body.
