Next Steps

Once you've applied, give yourself a pat on the back. You've taken the first big step. And you're already being connected to your Mid Mentor, who is ready and waiting to be your personal guide throughout your time at Mid.

Meet the Mid Mentors to learn more about them and to easily contact your Mid Mentor with any questions. If you don't yet know who your Mid Mentor is, no problem! We can put you in touch at (989) 386-6661 or mentors@midmich.edu.

STEP 1: Set up mymid and your Mid Email.

Add myMid to your phone’s home screen for easy access to useful tools and important updates. Access Self-Service, grades, campus events, course cancellation notifications, and much more! Simply launch a web browser on your phone, go to midmich.edu/mymid, tap the Share button or browser menu, tap the Add to Home Screen button, and tap Add.

It is vital that you check your Mid email. We will begin sending you important information about your financial aid and next steps immediately. Visit midmich.edu/mymid, click Account Setup, and follow the prompts. To complete this process you must have a non-MidMich email or personal email on record with the College. You likely provided this email on your Admissions Application. If you can’t recall or no longer have access to that email, contact your Mid Mentor for assistance.

Contact the Mid Helpdesk at (989) 317-4630 or helpdesk@midmich.edu.

Step 2

Verify You've met Course Prerequisites.

Several courses at Mid have prerequisites that must be met prior to enrollment in the course. Guest Students have often satisfied prerequisites at their "home" college/university. However, colleges/universities do not generally share prerequisite information with one another. So we have no knowledge if you actually completed a prerequisite for one of our courses at another college/university. This could prevent you from registering through Self-Service.

To verify that you have met the prerequisites required at Mid, please follow the steps below.

  1. Fax an unofficial transcript from the college/university where you completed the prerequisite course to (989) 772-2386. You may also email the unofficial transcript to enrollment@midmich.edu.
  2. Identify what Mid course you wish to enroll in, and which course on your unofficial transcript you believe satisfies our prerequisite.
  3. Include your name, Mid Michigan College student ID number, phone number, and email address on your correspondence.
  4. Once we have verified that you have completed the prerequisite(s), we email you a confirmation. At this point you are able to utilize Self-Service to register and pay for the course.

Please note that this process may take time to complete. Our email confirmation in no way guarantees that a spot is available when you attempt to register. So please follow the steps above in a timely fashion, paying close attention to critical registration timelines.

Complete additional placement testing if necessary

Appropriate placement in courses promotes your success and allows us to assist you in selecting courses that align with your current skill levels. If you do not have access to transcripts or test scores, you may need to do additional placement testing. Your Mid Mentor can help you determine what you need to submit or what testing needs to be completed.

STEP 3: Register Online or In-Person.

Visit Registration & Records at either campus to register in-person. To register online, sign in to myMid and click the 'Register for Courses' link. You will then need to login to Self-Service--this GUIDE takes you through the process step-by-step. If you need help, email enrollment@midmich.edu for assistance.

STEP 4: Arrange Payment.

Payment must be made by the full tuition due date. Tuition can be paid online, in Student Services, or through our Cashier’s Office.

Remember that Guest Students are not eligible for financial aid through Mid Michigan College. The federal government only allows you to apply for financial aid through one school at a time, and that should be your home college/university where you are earning the bulk of your credits. If you won’t be enrolled at any other school, contact us about the possibility of using financial aid at Mid.
