Options For Paying Your Tuition Bill

  • Pay by cash, money order, check, MasterCard, VISA, or Discover at Registration & Records on the Harrison or Mt. Pleasant Campuses. A 2.75% convenience fee is assessed for credit/debit card transactions.
  • Pay online with MasterCard, VISA, or Discover by logging into Self-Service. A 2.75% convenience fee is assessed for credit/debit card transactions.
  • Pay with financial aid if you have sufficient funds to cover your balance.
  • Set up an automatic payment plan using Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS). NBS charges a fee of $30 for using their payment plan service. If a credit/debit card is used, a convenience fee, in addition to the enrollment fee, will be assessed. You can opt to pay in full through NBS using your checking or savings account for $3. The number of payments you make will vary depending on when you set up your payment plan.

Enrollment Fee

  • An enrollment fee is required each semester, with the amount based on the date you register. The fee is $50 if you enroll during the early enrollment period and $100 if you enroll during the late enrollment period.

Information On Dropping & Withdrawing From Courses

  • You may drop (with a refund) or withdraw (no refund) from a course using Self-Service or in person at Registration & Records on the Harrison or Mt. Pleasant Campuses. Phone requests are not accepted.
  • For courses scheduled for 4 weeks or less, the deadline to drop and receive a full refund is the second day of the course.
  • The deadline to withdraw from a course scheduled for 4 weeks or less is 7 days before the course ends.
  • If a course is scheduled for 1 week, the deadline to withdraw is the day before the course is scheduled to end.
  • Always check with Mid's Financial Aid team or your Mid Mentor before dropping or withdrawing from a course to protect your GPA and financial aid eligibility.
  • Make sure that your courses have been properly dropped by the deadline if you elect not to participate in a course. If you do not drop a course by the deadline, you will be responsible for the costs associated with that course, whether you participate or not.

Financial Aid

  • If you receive financial aid, you may charge for books and supplies in the bookstore with the money left after your tuition and fees are subtracted from your financial aid award.
  • All financial aid is subject to change. Financial aid is based on many factors, including whether you attend Mid as a full or part-time student. Your financial aid will be adjusted based on your registration status.
  • You must participate in your courses to receive the financial aid you are awarded. Participation is verified, and financial aid is adjusted for non-participation before and after funds are disbursed. Your financial aid may be withdrawn, and you may be billed if you do not participate in your courses.
  • Financial aid refunds are available approximately 6-8 weeks after the start of the semester. There may be a delay in the availability of financial aid refunds based on the start date of specific courses. Sign up for direct deposit in Self-Service to receive your refund more quickly.

Purchasing Books in the Bookstore

  • You may use your financial aid balance to pay for books and supplies in the Bookstore, typically beginning the week before courses start. You must show your ID to use financial aid for books and supplies in the Bookstore. Check midmich.edu/bookstore for more information.
  • You can also use cash, check, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover debit/credit cards to purchase books and supplies.

Student ID & Printing/Copying

  • To help protect your privacy, Mid requests that you use your student ID number instead of your social security number on all documents. Your student ID number is located in the upper left-hand corner of your registration statement. A valid photo ID and a current course schedule are required to obtain a student ID, which is issued by Library & Learning Services on both the Harrison and Mt. Pleasant Campuses. Replacement ID cards are $5.
  • Your student ID number will be used to print and make copies. Full and part-time students are automatically issued $10 for printing and copying every semester. This money is deposited into your account and can only be accessed using your student ID number when printing or making copies.
  • Full-time students can request an additional $10 once per semester in person at Registration & Records on the Harrison or Mt. Pleasant Campuses. Additional monies can be added at any time at Registration & Records on either campus when paying in cash or by check. If paying with a credit card, click on ‘add credit’ when logged into your Papercut account.
