Mid Michigan College is revolutionizing technical education and fueling regional growth with a major renovation of the Morey Technical Education Center located on the Mt. Pleasant Campus.
This project will upgrade the Morey Technical Education Center to meet Industry 4.0 standards, addressing the urgent need for skilled professionals and shaping our community’s future.
Since opening in 2015, the Morey Technical Education Center has been pivotal in training local students for high-demand careers. Now, with a $2.5M state grant and an additional $500,000 fundraising campaign, we’re expanding our facilities to enhance our training programs and better serve our community.

The Mid Michigan College Foundation is actively fundraising, with a goal of $500,000, to complement the state funding and see this project to completion.
"These additional funds will allow us to equip our labs with more cutting-edge technologies and skill-building spaces," noted Alexa Carey, Executive Director of the Mid Foundation. "We encourage potential donors to help us bring this vision to life and support the future of skilled trades education in our communities."
The renovated Morey Technical Education Center will be equipped to address Michigan’s critical workforce needs, over 520,000 job openings are projected by 2030, and Mid students will gain valuable skills and certifications to excel in emerging industries.
"We're excited to see this project through to completion," shared Scott Mertes, Provost at Mid Michigan College. "With the addition of advanced technologies and a focus on professional workspace skills, we're preparing students to succeed."
