At Mid Michigan College we want to create an environment where all students, faculty, and staff can learn and thrive as their full selves in every area across our campuses. Mid’s Safe Zone Ally training aligns with our five core values
Mid’s Safe Zone Ally Program responds to the needs of our campus community. The goal of this program is to provide a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer, intersex, and asexual persons as well as those who do not identify with a specific label (LGBTQIA+) by establishing an identifiable network of individuals who can provide support, information and a safe zone for students and staff. We understand that those who identify as LGBTQIA+ may or may not have additional needs for support; therefore, Allies are equipped with a knowledge base to provide support and advocacy when needed.
The “Safe Zone Ally” symbol is a message to those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and their allies. The person displaying this symbol will be understanding, supportive, and trustworthy if a person who identifies as LGBTQIA+ needs help, advice, or just someone with whom they can talk.

Now more than ever, we need your help in working towards the Michigan we envision. We hope you’re ready to connect with us to support the lives of LGBTQIA people in your community.

Transgender Michigan's primary mission is to provide advocacy, support, and education while serving to create coalitions in the state of Michigan to unify and empower transgender and gender non-conformist communities.
