Winter Registration Is Open - Find Your Next Step

A new semester can mean a fresh start, a chance to stay on track, or an opportunity to take the next step toward a long-term goal. At Mid Michigan College, students can find flexible course options, personalized guidance, and support to help make that next step possible.

Registration for the Winter 2027 semester is open now, with courses beginning Monday, January 11. Students can choose from courses offered on campus and online, with full- and part-time options to fit their schedules and goals.

“Whether students are preparing for a career, planning to transfer, or taking a course to build new skills, we want them to see what's possible at Mid,” said Beth Binder, Director of Admissions. “You don't have to have your entire future figured out to get started. Our team can help you explore your options, make a plan, and take that first step.”

College May Be More Affordable Than You Think

The cost of college doesn't have to stand in the way of a student's goals. Eligible students may qualify for tuition assistance through Michigan's Community College Guarantee or Michigan Reconnect, along with federal and state financial aid and scholarships.

The Community College Guarantee (CCG) provides eligible recent Michigan high school graduates with a tuition-free path at their in-district community college. Eligible students attending outside their district may also receive significant financial assistance. Students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant may receive an additional $1,000 toward expenses such as textbooks and transportation.

Michigan Reconnect helps eligible Michigan residents age 21 and older who do not have a college degree pursue an associate degree at a community college. For eligible students, Reconnect covers in-district tuition and mandatory fees after other applicable financial aid is applied.

Students can explore eligibility and begin the financial aid process by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Additional applications may be required for certain programs.

“Our goal is to help students understand the options available to them and make the process feel manageable,” said Michelle McNier, Director of Financial Aid. “Students don't have to figure it all out on their own. We can help them navigate the FAFSA, understand their financial aid options, and identify the next steps.”

Support Beyond the Classroom

College is about more than completing courses. Students also need the resources and encouragement to navigate the demands of everyday life while working toward their goals.

Mid offers personalized guidance through Mid Mentors who serve as students’ academic advisors, along with resources that include career planning, internet hotspots, transportation vouchers, mental health counseling, and a campus food pantry.

“Life doesn't stop when you start college, and sometimes students need a little extra support to keep moving forward,” said Amy Campbell, Director of Counseling & Wellness Services. “We're here to help students navigate challenges and connect them with resources so they can focus on their education and their future.”

Whether students are new to Mid, returning after time away, transferring from another college, or looking to complete a course or two, they can find options and support to help them move forward.

Prospective students can apply online at midmich.edu/apply or contact Admissions at admissions@midmich.edu or (989) 386-6661. Current and returning students can contact their Mid Mentor for help with course selection and registration at midmich.edu/mentors.
