Mid Michigan College Announces $500,000 Naming Gift from Isabella Bank for Isabella Bank Arena
Mid Michigan College is proud to announce a $500,000 transformational gift from Isabella Bank to name the Isabella Bank Arena, located within the new Morey Event Center on the College’s Mt. Pleasant Campus.
Isabella Bank was among the first organizations to commit financial support to the Morey Event Center project, providing early leadership that helped turn vision into reality.
“The naming of Isabella Bank Arena is a reflection of extraordinary leadership and belief in Mid Michigan College,” said Tim Hood, President of Mid Michigan College. “Isabella Bank set the pace for this project and demonstrated what true community partnership looks like.”
Gifts to the Morey Event Center, including Isabella Bank’s transformational leadership gift, are creating a home for Laker Athletics and a space for community events that bring students, families, and residents together. The arena will also host commencement ceremonies, currently held at Clare High School, giving students and families the opportunity to celebrate milestones on campus for the first time.
“For generations, Isabella Bank has been committed to investing in the communities we serve,” said Jerome Schwind, President and Chief Executive Officer at Isabella Bank. “Supporting Mid Michigan College and the Isabella Bank Arena is an investment in students, athletics, and the future of our region.”
The Morey Event Center has also garnered additional philanthropic support from community partners and foundations, reflecting broad enthusiasm for the project’s impact on education, athletics, economic development, and quality of life.
“The leadership shown by Isabella Bank created momentum that inspired others to join this effort,” said Alexa Carey, Executive Director of the Mid Michigan College Foundation. “Their early commitment means a great deal to the College and will leave a lasting legacy for generations of students and athletes.”
Construction of the Morey Event Center is underway, with the Isabella Bank Arena expected to open in late 2026.
