Mid Michigan College student-athletes are committed to performing both in and out of the classroom. They’re also focused on building connections with the community and helping young athletes grow in their sports.
Mid’s Laker Softball team is hosting a Hitting Camp and a Pitchers & Catchers Camp on Saturday, February 21, in Weidman. Each camp costs $75 per participant, with special pricing available for those who register for both camps or for pitchers and catchers who sign up together.
“Third- through eighth-graders have their own dedicated time to learn with and from Laker athletes and coaches,” shared Greg Welch, Head Softball Coach at Mid. “Then it’s the high school athletes’ turn, when they receive one-on-one time with the team to build skills and learn more about what it’s like to play at Mid.”
Full details and registration are available at midlakers.com. Questions can be directed to Coach Welch at (517) 927-5333 or glwelch@midmich.edu.
Mid’s bowling teams are hosting a 9-Pin No-Tap Doubles Tournament at Meadow Lanes Bowling & Banquet Center in Gladwin at 1pm Sunday, February 22. Proceeds directly support team travel and equipment.
“The tournament is just $50 per team and includes three games,” explained Coach Jason Robinson. “It’s going to be a lot of fun with a 50/50, bowling ball drawing, and other giveaways.”
Those wishing to support the team in other ways can sponsor a lane at the event for $100.
For details, registration, or questions, contact Coach Robinson at (989) 854-1117 or jarobinson@midmich.edu.
“This is a chance for our student-athletes to connect with our local communities and inspire the next generation of future Lakers,” shared Danny Smith, Athletic Director at Mid Michigan College. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without our community. We’re grateful for their support and hope to see many of you at these great events.”
