Community Businesses Invited to Sponsor A Northern Tradition

Local businesses and organizations have an opportunity to support students while gaining meaningful community visibility by sponsoring A Northern Tradition, an annual fundraising event for Mid Michigan College.

Now in its 23rd year, A Northern Tradition has become a beloved community event, bringing together supporters of education and the outdoors for a memorable evening at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare. The event celebrates the region’s Up North culture while raising funds that help students succeed through scholarships, campus initiatives, and improved learning spaces.

Together, over the past 23 years, our community has raised more than $2 million to support Mid students, a powerful testament to the generosity of local businesses and residents.

Event sponsors play a central role in making that impact possible—and in return, they become part of the experience. Sponsorship includes recognition before and during the event, access to the exclusive Northern Legacy Reception, and tickets to A Northern Tradition, offering a unique opportunity to connect with community members in a relaxed and memorable setting.

“Sponsors help turn this event into something truly special each year,” said Courtney Silverthorn, Director of Development for the Mid Michigan College Foundation. “Their support not only creates an unforgettable evening for guests, but also opens doors for students across our region.”

Multiple sponsorship levels are available, making it easy for organizations of all sizes to participate and show their support for education and the community.

For more than two decades, A Northern Tradition has reflected the generosity of local businesses and residents who believe in opportunity and the region's future. Sponsors continue that tradition while gaining visibility as champions of student success.
