In an effort to maintain a positive and informed Campus Community, Mid utilizes the MidAlert! notification system. This allows College Administration to relay notifications to the campus community through two components
Emergency notifications are sent to all active Mid Mich Email Accounts. Current students are, by default, automatically enrolled to receive automated voice calls to their newest number on file.
Students, faculty, and staff need to enroll to receive emergency notifications via text, to update preferences, receive MidAlert! general campus information, or to “opt-out”. Students who select to “opt-out” of MidAlert! should understand that in an emergency situation, notifications would be received through their Mid Mich Email account and posted on Mid's homepage.
NOTE: MidAlert! preferences must be reviewed and confirmed every year; otherwise, the default setting will take effect.
While on campus, visitors may enroll to receive MidAlert! emergency notifications and timely warnings. Visitors who choose to enroll will be placed in a ‘temporary’ MidAlert! notification file for the day.

Any home and cellular phone numbers(s) or wireless device(s) number that you provide to Mid as part of your student records in Admissions, Enrollment, Financial Aid, or Student Services gives authorization to the College and its agents/contractors to contact you at those provided numbers/devices.
Regardless of your choices regarding communication via text messaging, Mid and its agents/contractors will send notifications and communications to your Mid Mich Email. Additional communication may also be transmitted by automated/pre-recorded or live phone calls to any phone numbers on file with the College.
For text messages, cell phone carriers may charge standard text messaging fees.

By employing a variety of electronic communication tools, such as text messaging, email, and RSS feeds, emergency messages can be sent simultaneously to registered campus community members via cell phone, home phone, and WiFi-enabled devices.

Yes. Visit the phones page within your account profile to change the phone numbers you have on file with the College. MidAlert! notifications can be customized for each phone number on file.
If you would like to opt-out of phone calls or text messages, you can select this option using the Mid Account Profile web page. This preference must be confirmed every year, otherwise the default notification setting will take effect.
No. Our messaging provider enforces a zero spam policy. Further, our text messaging provider does not sell or share the contact information of our subscribers to third party marketers.
No, as long as your phone can receive text messages. Make sure your carrier information is listed correctly on the Mid Account Profile web page.
Maybe. Depending on your wireless carrier provider and the plan you have, you may be charged a nominal fee (i.e. approximately 10 to 20 cents) to receive SMS text messages. If you have an unlimited text messaging plan, there should be no additional charge.
You will receive text messages based on the types of notifications you requested on the Mid Account Profile web page. You may also receive an occasional test message.

You will receive this message if you have requested the validation code multiple times. You should only request the code once from Mid Michigan College.
No. Users of the MidAlert! system can have up to two cell phone numbers registered. So if you wanted a spouse or parent to get emergency notifications, for example, you could add their number in addition to yours.
