Students with this established modification should communicate with their instructor as soon as they know they will be absent and contact Student Accommodation Services if absences will be more frequent.

Examples of Who May Benefit

Those who have difficulty sitting or standing for long periods of time. Those who need to express breastmilk or breastfeed.

What it Provides
Time to step out of the course, lab, or site to meet one’s needs.

How to Enact It
Students with this established modification should work with their instructor to identify how to take a break in the least disruptive way.

Examples of Who May Benefit

Those who are having difficulties during their pregnancy and the difficulties are impeding their ability to complete assignments/exams on time.

What it Provides
Extra time to complete assignments/exams.

How to Enact It
Students with this established modification should work with their instructor and Student Accommodation Services, as needed.

Examples of Who May Benefit

Those who need to eat or drink during a course where it is otherwise prohibited.

What it Provides
An opportunity to either eat/drink during a course or step out to do so.

How to Enact It
Students with this established modification should work with their instructor to identify how to utilize this modification in the safest and least disruptive manner.

Examples of Who May Benefit

Students who, due to their pregnancy or related condition, require a separate chair/desk space to provide adequate space for their function.

What it Provides
A movable chair that separates from the desk, standing desk/station.

How to Enact It
Student Accommodation Services will work with the College's Facilities team to ensure appropriate classroom furniture is available for students with this modification.

Examples of Who May Benefit

Students who miss work, lectures, classroom events, exams/quizzes  due to their pregnancy, delivery, or related condition.

What it Provides
Access to complete their course.

How to Enact It
Students with this established modification will work with their instructor and Student Accommodation Services to determine how best to make-up/complete the course.
