Over 550 people attended the 20th annual A Northern Tradition, Mid Michigan College’s annual fundraiser, which took place recently at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare. The event raised over $75,000 to support the College’s services to students and the community.
“I am so impressed and grateful for how the community stepped forward to support the College again this year,” said Matt Miller, Vice President of Advancement at Mid Michigan College. “This event wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Jay’s Sporting Goods. We’re so thankful to the sponsors, the restaurants and demonstrators, the many volunteers, and the attendees. It was a great event.”
A Northern Tradition is the College’s biggest fundraiser. In twenty years, it has raised over $1.8 million to support students. The proceeds from this event allow the Mid Michigan College Foundation to support the College’s services to students through scholarships, program development, improved facilities, and student success initiatives.
Attendees enjoyed an evening of exclusive shopping and exceptional food provided by local restaurants, and were excited to meet special guest, Brock Gutierrez, a former CMU & Detroit Lions alum.
“Everyone comes together each year for a fun event and a good cause,” said Miller. “We strive to provide a valuable service to the community and we truly appreciate their support of those efforts.”
