What is Honors Convocation like?

  • Graduates must check in at the table outside of the Community Room when they arrive.
  • The event includes a welcome address and special remarks from College representatives.
  • Graduates are called up to the stage individually to receive their awards.
  • Appetizers and desserts are provided.
  • Each graduate may bring two guests.
  • Business Casual/Dressy Casual attire is suggested.

Special Recognition Awards

Special Recognition Awards are awarded to Mid students who are outstanding performers in academics, leadership, volunteerism, and other areas. These students have gone above and beyond in numerous ways. Selected students must be eligible for graduation in the current academic year, but need not be honors students. Recipients of Special Recognition Awards are given a special certificate and silver cord to wear with their graduation regalia.
