INTRODUCTION

Mid’s ongoing commitment is to further provide and foster a safe environment to work and learn. Part of this commitment is to provide equal opportunity in our employment and educational programs and activities. In response to legal mandates, the College requires the standard use of the complete and combined, Equal Employment Opportunity and Non Discrimination statement on all official publications that describe college services, programs and activities. When space is limited such as in newsletters, posters, flyers or brochures, abridged versions of the statement may be used. Please make certain that the URL is listed for the various policy statements. Additionally, Title IX requires that the name, title, address and contact information for the College’s Title IX Coordinator be specified in any publication that is used for the purpose of recruiting students or employees The following full and abridged versions of the statement are provided and should be used without modification. Instances in which the examples should be utilized are also provided. STATEMENT OPTIONS

Combined Statement Usage (Comprehensive)

Comprehensive combined statements should be used for publications, bulletins, announcements, catalogs, student and employee handbooks, application forms or any other recruitment materials that are available to participants, students, applicants, or employees. The contact information for the College’s Title IX and the Civil Rights Coordinator is required in any of the above mentioned documents when they are used for recruiting employees/students or when indicating or describing sex discrimination policies, procedures (including reporting), or prohibitions. The comprehensive statement follows.

Mid Michigan College strongly endeavors to broaden our diversity, promote equal opportunity and provide a safe environment within its community.
