This course gives students hands-on experience and exposure to a wide variety of advanced word processing applications using computers and the most current word processing software. The advanced word processing features teach students the skills needed to pass expert certification exams. These exams validate a student's skills, and supply objective proof to an employer, or prospective employer, that the student knows how to use the software efficiently and productively. Microcomputers are used to produce a wide variety of documents, as well as ways in which the software program interacts with Windows and the Internet. Practice exercises and assignments are the primary source of instruction on the microcomputer. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) approved software is used to provide students with skills needed to complete the MOS Expert Certification Exam. Prerequisites: AAP.140 or equivalent
