Mid Michigan College’s Automotive & Diesel Service Technology Program has received Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation.
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that Mid’s graduates will be employable entry-level technicians.”
To achieve this coveted recognition, the program underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation which used nationally-accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment to complete the evaluation.
“During the past year, our team, led by lead instructor Rich Hollister, has worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to make certain that our program would meet strict industry standards,” noted Shawn Troy, Dean of Workforce & Career Education at Mid. “Students can be assured of a quality education and local employers can be assured that Mid graduates are ready to contribute to their teams.”
Mid’s program offers two distinct pathways that prepare students for the workforce—a laser-focused training credential and a more in-depth associate degree, which both feature fast-track options and flexible schedules.
“We’re proud to offer students a high-level education using top-notch technologies,” shared Troy. “And we continue to innovate and stay on top of industry needs and trends. A new electric/hybrid vehicle course will launch in the winter 2024 semester to ensure our graduates are ready to take on real-world work.”
