Constitution Day

On September 17, 1787 America′s Founding Fathers signed the Constitution at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia presided by George Washington. The Constitution has served as the supreme law of America since 1789.

Constitution Day is a federal observance recognizing the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who are and have become U.S. citizens. Formerly known as Citizenship Day, Constitution Day was established to correspond with the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.
