Artistic Welding
Harrison Campus | Welding Lab 276
Class runs for six consecutive weeks on Wednesdays; March 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 6pm - 9pm.
Artistic Welding is designed for the welding novice! This class will give you an understanding of safety practices, familiarity with equipment used, metals, how to alter them for certain purposes, and 3 different welding techniques.
During this three-hour, six-week class students will develop the skills needed to explore their artistic ideas by creating fun works of art. What a great way to bring life back into old tools, collected junk, and yard sale finds. Be part of this fun, rewarding welding opportunity!
Mid will provide all welding clothing, however, students should wear cotton long-sleeved shirts, long pants, closed-toed shoes, and bring a baseball-style hat and welding gloves.
Students will provide many of their items for welding in their second week of class. Instructors will provide additional details.
This class is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping, throughout the six weeks. Participants will have to use their hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
