Business Program Highlights

Business is booming.

A business degree is one of the most flexible degrees you can hold, opening doors to numerous career fields, from marketing to human resources to administration. Our certificates, training credentials, and associate degrees allow you to enter managerial or sales roles quickly with skills employers are looking for in potential team members.

Employers appreciate potential team members who can demonstrate skill achievements accomplished throughout their education journey, noting that they often require less training than other new graduates and that they come equipped with practical skills.

Faculty with connections.

Many of our instructors have previous or current careers in business-related fields, so they bring real-life experiences into their courses. And, they stay connected to business trends in order to provide relevant and meaningful content, adapting how and what they teach to reflect today's business world.

General Business

This Associate in Applied Science Pathway provides you with the opportunity to gain the skills needed to manage an existing small business, or the guidance to begin the adventure as an entrepreneur and open your own business. Courses within this pathway expand upon the Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship Training Credential, and include an internship component which allows you to obtain real-world, on-the-job experience using the skills you've learned through your coursework. An emphasis is placed on developing skills that involve both critical thinking and creative approaches to solving business problems.

Graduates with a business education may enter many different careers including accounting, advertising, economics, finance, general business, management, marketing, human resources, industrial relations, and public administration. Depending on the organization in which they work, they may become generalists or specialists.

Management

Managers develop strategies and policies to ensure that an organization's goals and objectives are met. Their responsibilities can include a wide range of roles, whether it's as the superintendent of a school or park, manager of retail location, or the chief executive officer of a large corporation.

Marketing, Advertising, & Public Relations

Marketing and advertising professionals promote a firm's products or services, coordinate market research, develop marketing strategies, determine the demand for and potential sales of products and services, propose advertisements and promotions, and use available communication channels to target specific audiences.

Human Resources

Helping organizations attract the most qualified employees and matching them to the jobs for which they are best suited, recruiting and interviewing new employees, providing advice on hiring decisions, and helping to improve morale and limit turnover by providing training and boosting employee satisfaction with jobs and working conditions are the key functions of human resource professionals.
