Becoming a capable technician means practicing--not simply reading a book. As a CIS student at Mid, you'll learn on real equipment in our hands-on labs, practice skills on Cisco routers, switches, and simulators, and be well-prepared to enter careers immediately after graduation. Plus, learn beyond the walls of Mid by participating in industry tours and meeting professionals engaged in this evolving field.
NEW! This pathway is 100% online starting in the fall 2023 semester! Mid's Information Technology Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Pathway prepares you to maintain information technology (IT) components that are the foundation of an IT service. These components are typically physical components (computer, networking hardware, and facilities), but also include various software and network components. Cybersecurity-specific courses within the pathway prepare you to protect those components and IT services from hacking which results in data being compromised.
Mid's Software Development Pathway prepares you for a career that involves designing, creating, and implementing computer applications. You'll also develop skills to assist you with analyzing clients needs and creating software based solutions. A software developer is a problem-solver who helps to create IT solutions to business problems.
Mid's Game Programming Pathway allows you to gain the skills needed to write code for video games. Game Programmers work closely with game designers, who design the art, soundscape, and overall player experience. In some companies, the game programmer and game designer duties overlap, with everyone on the team contributing to game design and functionality.

The greatest skills they had were a teachable spirit, self-directed learning, and a servant-leader approach to their work. All of these are critical to success. They then learned a lot more about real-world work while serving fellow AMC Associates on the job.”
