When doctors need to diagnose an illness, they often turn to advanced medical imaging technologies to provide them with an inside view of a patient’s body. Radiologic technologists utilize specialized equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Mid Michigan College offers a two-year (not including prerequisites), Associate in Applied Science, Radiography Degree.
The curriculum consists of classes, labs with an energized x-ray machine, and clinical education. Clinical education takes place in area hospital Radiology departments and may include evening and/or weekend assignments. Students may be required to travel distances greater than 1 hour for clinical education.
Application Deadline is March 1st, annually.

Mid Michigan College's Center for Medical Imaging Studies (CMIS) has the top of the line technology for the field of Radiography. Digital radiography is the most advanced technology in the field and Mid has an energized room with this technology.
Mid also has digital radiography, computed radiography, PACS, and phantoms made from cadaver bones for life-like detail. Mid has all of the technology and equipment that is available in the field, so no matter where students do clinical education or work as a technologist, they will have already been exposed to everything that is available in the field. Of course, there are various vendors and types of equipment.
Jodi discovered Mid’s Radiography Program after an academic advising meeting with her Mid Mentor. Intrigued by a career in health care with high employment rates, Jodi began her journey. Before she even had graduated, she was offered a position at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, the site where she completed her clinical training. After working locally for five years, Jodi stepped out of her comfort zone and moved across the country.
“I was ecstatic when the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Medical Center offered me a position,” Jodi explained. “I’ve always respected university medical centers for their dedication to education and their progressive atmosphere. Plus, I’ve never been a fan of snow!”
