Healthcare careers in the Imaging Sciences

When doctors need to diagnose an illness, they often turn to advanced medical imaging technologies to provide them with an inside view of a patient’s body. Radiologic technologists utilize specialized equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

RAD student Jodi

Mid Grad discovers her dream job.

Jodi discovered Mid’s Radiography Program after an academic advising meeting with her Mid Mentor. Intrigued by a career in health care with high employment rates, Jodi began her journey. Before she even had graduated, she was offered a position at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, the site where she completed her clinical training. After working locally for five years, Jodi stepped out of her comfort zone and moved across the country.

“I was ecstatic when the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Medical Center offered me a position,” Jodi explained. “I’ve always respected university medical centers for their dedication to education and their progressive atmosphere. Plus, I’ve never been a fan of snow!”
